Popping in to say…

I went to Austin! I started a new job!

There's lots to share, and I will soon!, but I hope a few pictures will tide you over. For now I've got lots of sleep to catch up on and our bedroom looks like our suitcases exploded. Why is unpacking such a difficult task?

Here's a peak at what the past 10 days looked like for me:

Waiting for my flight to Austin.

I always sit on the right side of the plane so I can see the skyline as we descend. It makes my heart swell every time.

Margaritas with best girl friends.

Lots of live music including Bob Schneider (every gal from Austin has a tiny crush on him).

I managed to go to Alamo Drafthouse three times.

I had the hardest time figuring out what to wear for my first day! I went with black pants and purple sweater.

Here's the view from my new desk! I'm so glad to have a window.

Hope you're having a good week!

I absolutely love that skyline – as someone studying urban planning, the green space surrounding the city astounds me. I live in the Greater Toronto Area and although we have a green belt as a northern boundary, you would be hard pressed to see that much green space anywhere near the downtown areas in the Greater Toronto Area – I guess a result of contiguous planning. Sounds like a wonderful trip was had. What a nice view from your new office!

Since I grew up in Austin all the green space seemed normal for a big city but now that I’ve been out and about I see how unique and awesome it is!

All of this is such exciting news! Congrats on the new job! I also have a preferred side of the plane when I fly home: the left, so I can see Mt. Hood as we fly by it and into Portland. I can’t wait to read more about your adventures!
